Public bug reported:
After random time (up to 2h) working with system, it freezes (in browser, opening settings, working with files etc. ). Sometimes i can move with cursor. SSH and Apache2 web server is always working. But i cannot restart desktop manager due to xserver stuck in D state (obviously) only restart helps. I had two display setup. And old kernels work work fine but destop is only copied on the second display. HW is also ok. I am running dual boot and windows works fine and even graphic stress test on window passed (five hours with stable temp). I get the system to work with kernel 4.9 and Linux Mint with cinnamon in software rendering mode, after installing amdgpu-pro it starts freezing again. The bug happens in 16.04 and 16.10 (kde edition, gnome edition, classic with unity) w/wo amdgpu-pro Please what else i can provide (logs, dumps etc.)? ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amdgpu xenial xorg yakkety ** Attachment added: "syslog.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1652324/+attachment/4795724/+files/syslog.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1652324 Title: xserver freeze with amdgpu on RX 480 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu/+bug/1652324/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
