Public bug reported: I've tested every kernel from 2.6.22-12 to 2.6.22-14 and all three exhibit the same symptoms that are absent in 2.6.22-11.
I'm using a Gateway MX3410 with Realtek RTL-8185 wireless. 06:09.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8185 IEEE 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 20) In all the kernels, all is fine until I try to associate to a wireless access point. As soon as it associates, the machine locks up and the caps lock light flashes. I originally thought it was ndiswrapper-related, but I tried the GPL drivers for my card (r8180) in 2.6.22-14 and it did the exact same thing. I'm using WPA2 on my AP and haven't tried it with an unencrypted one yet, but at this point my guess is either wpasupplicant or the kernel wireless stack is unhappy here. Considering I'm using the same laptop, same wpasupplicant, with 2.6.22-11 fine... ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- wireless causes lockup on Gateway laptop with kernels > 2.6.22-11 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152522 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
