rbasak: Updated the initial post with SRU info, I will admit I don't know enough about this package to know how to stress test it to be sure there are no regressions in actual functionality, but I wanted to make it so it would at least work instead of failing to build and be 100% useless. Updating to the full stable point releases would be better.
** Description changed: + [Impact] + lltng-modules in yakkety is not compatible with a 4.8 kernel and does not build at all. This was fixed with the 2.8.1 stable release update. I cherry-picked just what was required from 2.8.1 for 2.8.0 to build on a 4.8 kernel in this SRU because there are other commits that aren't related to this problem. + + [Test Case] + Install the package, if it builds and is usable its a positive step forward. + Testing failed on: - amd64: https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-yakkety-canonical-kernel-team-unstable/yakkety/amd64/l/lttng-modules/20160918_082746@/log.gz - armhf: https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-yakkety-canonical-kernel-team-unstable/yakkety/armhf/l/lttng-modules/20160918_084217@/log.gz - i386: https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-yakkety-canonical-kernel-team-unstable/yakkety/i386/l/lttng-modules/20160918_083359@/log.gz - ppc64el: https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-yakkety-canonical-kernel-team-unstable/yakkety/ppc64el/l/lttng-modules/20160918_125351@/log.gz - s390x: https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-yakkety-canonical-kernel-team-unstable/yakkety/s390x/l/lttng-modules/20160918_084041@/log.gz + amd64: https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-yakkety-canonical-kernel-team-unstable/yakkety/amd64/l/lttng-modules/20160918_082746@/log.gz + armhf: https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-yakkety-canonical-kernel-team-unstable/yakkety/armhf/l/lttng-modules/20160918_084217@/log.gz + i386: https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-yakkety-canonical-kernel-team-unstable/yakkety/i386/l/lttng-modules/20160918_083359@/log.gz + ppc64el: https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-yakkety-canonical-kernel-team-unstable/yakkety/ppc64el/l/lttng-modules/20160918_125351@/log.gz + s390x: https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-yakkety-canonical-kernel-team-unstable/yakkety/s390x/l/lttng-modules/20160918_084041@/log.gz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1625072 Title: lttng-modules 2.8.0-1 ADT test failure with linux 4.8.0-11.12 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lttng-modules/+bug/1625072/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
