Public bug reported:

light-locker started 2 days or so ago to switch off the display backlight when
it should switch them on.
The screens turn on in order to display the password dialog, but after entering
the password the screens start flickering and then all end up with the display
backlight switched off and even go into power-save mode.

Not even the previous workaround of briefly switching to the console and
back helps anymore since light-locker is taking over again and making
the same mistake.

The only workaround is now to either to:
1. ssh in from another machine and kill light-locker (then at least the primary
display can be accessed and the whole setup properly initialized with xrandr
2. blindly switch to the console and reboot the machine with alt-ctrl-del

Neither option is sustainable in the long run.
