Thank you Andreas for your response.
I tried removing matlab-support but I get the following response. I am not sure
if any other process is using the admin directory.

-PC:~$ sudo apt remove matlab-support
N: Ignoring file '50unattended-upgrades.ucf-old' in directory
'/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily
unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another
process using it?
