Public bug reported: Configure the top panel with "Expand", "Show hide buttons", and "Arrows on hide buttons" selected. When clicking the hide button, the panel slides out of view, leaving a few pixels in the upper left corner visible, but the space that should be occupied by the hide button is now occupied by the right-most icons in the panel (typically the system clock and the power menu in a default panel configuration.)
