>From @archenroot's posts I tried the following settings which does seem to have got the speakers and headphones working properly (no mic as yet but I'll have a play with that later)
added the following to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf options snd-hda-intel single_cmd=1 options snd-hda-intel probe_mask=1 options snd-hda-intel model=generic Now I only ever see one output device; speakers or headphones (when plugged in). HDMI doesn't recognise at all (although that's not a major issue since it doesn't output video anyway) Setup; PC: XPS-9360 OS: Ubuntu-16.04 BIOS: 1.0.7 Kernel: 4.4.0-53-generic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575078 Title: [XPS 15 9550, Realtek ALC3266] Headphone jack stops working after a while To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1575078/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
