Hi

Can confirm this, on upgrade from 7.04 (2.6.20-16) to 7.10RC the package
linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22-14-386 was not included in the upgrade
leaving me with an X that failed to start.

Swapped driver to "nv" in X and started Kubuntu, then installed the
restricted modules package and everything works ok (could use the
console to do this as well I suppose)
