Public bug reported: I have seen these memory leaks reported in the past, but I don't see now in version 16.10.
I have an Ubuntu 16.10 version installed in a Toshiba Laptop. This laptop is permanently switch on, but I access it from time to time (perhaps, every 3 or 4 days). When I access, the PC is doing hard swapping. If I monitor with iotop, the task unity-panel is taking 99% swapping. Then, I assume there is a really big memory leak. NOTE: When this happens, the PC is unusable during several hours because desktop is veerrry slow or unresponsive. Normally I have to shutdown #974378 memory leak in unity-2d-shell New (3 comments) last updated 2012-04-05 view this bug #974382 memory leak in unity-panel-service Invalid (15 comments) last updated 2016-10-28 view this bug #987060 massive memory leak in unity-panel-service and hud-service when invoking the hud on Firefox profiles with large amounts of bookmarks LTS 12.04 14.04 Incomplete (64 comments) last updated 2016-11-18 view this bug ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1645617 Title: Unity panel - Memory out + Swap continously To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1645617/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
