Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-menus
on 64 bit architectures, gnome-menus will fail with segv because of converting 32-bit ints to pointers. The functions in question are always fatal on ia64, and intermittantly fatal on amd64 (since the top 32 bits of pointers are usually - but not always - zero on amd64.) See http://people.ubunut.com/~lamont/buildLogs/Test/g/gnome- menus/2.20.0-0ubuntu1/gnome- menus_2.20.0-0ubuntu1_20071012-1440-amd64-successful.gz for details, looking especially at the last several lines.
