For everyone who is reading here as his report is added as a duplicate
of this one:
First, see my comment #2 and comment #3.
In one of the duplicates a user reported that he could solve the problem
(get new CUPS package installed) doing the following commands in a
terminal window:
sudo service cups stop
sudo apt-get install -f
sudo service cups start
The reason why CUPS fails to shut down during the update (the CUPS
daemon of the old CUPS package 2.1.3-4) is not known yet. I cannot
reproduce it.
So if someone can somehow reproduce it, please attach the CUPS error_log
in debug mode.
Independent of this, please everyone who has suffered this problem
TODAY, please attach your CUPS error_log TODAY. Who suffered the problem
yesterday, please attach error_log and error_log.1.
error_log and error_log.1 are in the /var/log/cups/ directory.
