I was trying to replace Unity with KDE. The original disk was from
Linux Format DVD211.
Unity is very annoying with animation that cannot easily be switched off
and slows everything down. Terminal also represented a 'p' as a heavy
underscore (xterm did not).
I will replace the whole system with a clean KUbuntu download to see
whether that is any better.
This is to upgrade from a very elderly Kubuntu 8.04 LTS 32 bit system
which is well past its expiry date.
