I have run into this bug as well. It seems that this bug only occurs in the following scenario:
- You have "Allow Xfce to manage the desktop" turned on in "Desktop Preferences" - You have the "Desktop Icons" option set to "None" (don't display desktop icons) - xfdesktop was started with these settings Interestingly, if you turn "Desktop Icons" to "None" after xfdesktop has already loaded, right clicking will work.
