I can confirm this issue, if i start my usb2.0 i get the same errors like the others mentioned. i/o errors, reset usb device etc... If i use modprobe -r ehci_hcd to unload it, and start than my hdd it just works fine, no issues at all, no messages or anything else(expect infos like its mounted) BUT with usb1.1 speed. Like the Bugreporter mentioned.
