On my system, an Acer Aspire 5570Z, I don't see the taskbar panel on login. It appears after I click in the desktop area where it should be at the bottom of the screen. I'm running Ubuntu Gutsy with the latest updates as of 10-07-2007. I have desktop effects turned on.
