Public bug reported: overlayfs does not support renaming directories when the directories live in the lower filesystem:
* Directory renames only allowed on "pure upper" (already created on * upper filesystem, never copied up). Directories which are on lower or * are merged may not be renamed. For these -EXDEV is returned and * userspace has to deal with it. This means, when copying up a * directory we can rely on it and ancestors being stable. ** Affects: dpkg (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical Status: New ** Affects: dpkg (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Critical Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Critical Status: New ** Affects: dpkg (Debian) Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #836211 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=836211 ** Also affects: dpkg (Debian) via http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=836211 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Also affects: dpkg (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: dpkg (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided => Critical ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided => Critical -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1620525 Title: sbuild with overlayfs fails in yakkety To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dpkg/+bug/1620525/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
