I am also experiencing this problem on fiesty with OO 2.2.0-1ubuntu4 on an AMD64 X2 3800+
OO seemed to work perfectly correctly on the initial install of fiesty (and OO) but because I had a problem with getting mail merge to work (see bug 112408) I purged OO and a number of ancilliary modules (shown below) then re-installed using: sudo aptitude install openoffice.org openoffice.org-base openoffice.org- calc openoffice.org-common openoffice.org-core openoffice.org-draw openoffice.org-evolution openoffice.org-filter-mobiledev openoffice.org- gnome openoffice.org-gtk openoffice.org-hyphenation openoffice.org- impress openoffice.org-java-common openoffice.org-math openoffice.org- style-human openoffice.org-writer OO worked correctly - incl mail merge - but has recently shown the problem in this thread. I renamed all the .gtk* files and restarted OO.
