Thanks for your response. Just tested with the latest upstream kernel rc2-generic_4.8.0 and the bug is still there.
Also with this version I noticed that sometimes booting with the Ethernet cable connected wakes up Wifi as well, but this is not 100 % repeatable. Without the cable I cannot activate Wifi or see any networks. Modified the error status and tags as requested. ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1613437 Title: RT3290 Wifi stopped working after upgrade from 14.04 LTS to 16.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1613437/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
