Looking at it again, it seems like it is not meant to do that, only for lcd
screens... Can you try to manually add the sync ranges to the autogenerated
xorg.conf and see if that makes any difference? Add this to the Monitor section:
HorizSync 30-121
VertRefresh 50-160
Anyway, I might be on the wrong track here...
