Team, Installing xserver-xorg-video-intel fixed the issue:
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel If you have it installed already, try reinstalling it after an upgrade: sudo apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg-video-intel System Info: Lenovo T430 Lubuntu 16.04 Error which helped me find out the solution (in /var/log/syslog): [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 7:0:0x85ffbcfc, in Xorg [872], reason: Ring hung, action: reset Hope this helps.
