Like Jojo said, the actual binary azureus 2.5.0.4 package from debian works. Unfortunatly, the 2.5.0.4 sources doesn't build for the reasons I wrote above. the 2.5.0.0 seems to have been completely re-packaged because of the same issues, so azureus is a complex package.
Chris Halse Rogers seems to have a more complete knowledge of that package than me. But this bug is still high and we should find a solution in order to fix this, same if it's a temporary solution!
