Ok, it is right that WengoPhone does not work when selecting a specific
device, as that device is already being used by some application and
does not support mixing in hardware ("plughw:0" can be opened only once
at a time).However it is not clear yo my why it fails when using "default". In fact, opening "default", alsa should perform software mixing (and aplay works indeed!). Could you please try the latest versions from upstream (http://dev.openwengo.org): 2.1.2 and 2.2alpha2? Then I'll forward the bug upstream...
