Sebastian, to answer your question: I had desktop effects turned on. However, I just updated again, saw a few package updates with "xorg" in the name being installed, and now the problem seems to be gone. Without desktop effects on, the problem occurs neither - but that's no surprise since this bug seems to be fixed...? I'll reboot the system to see if the problem is really gone.
