Until this issue is fixed, I created a workaround: a rename shell script invoked through Thunar's custom actions mechanism.
The script needs zenity and xdotool. More information on how to set it up is in the script. I hope you'll find my junior bash skills useful :) Please contribute back improved versions. Let's hope we don't need to use this for long. @thunar-devs: please fix this bug. It occurs very often, it closes ALL thunar windows and it makes Xfce feel unstable and unfinished. I'm a java dev, so I can't help much. Thanks for your hard work up until now. ** Attachment added: "workaround" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunar/+bug/1512120/+attachment/4693346/+files/rename-file.sh -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1512120 Title: thunar crashes on file renaming To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/thunar/+bug/1512120/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
