I just tried those lines in ~/.profile on Ubuntu GNOME, and it didn't help for me either. The problem is that GNOME is tightly tied to IBus nowadays - it's bug #1594681, and it's not resolved yet. Please feel free to subscribe to it.
So my advice for now: Avoid Ubuntu GNOME if you want flexibility as regards input sources. Closing this bug again. The issue is not an im-config bug. ** Changed in: im-config (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1596181 Title: Problem with some arabic caracters To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/im-config/+bug/1596181/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
