Thanks for the information. Can you also do this (it will overwrite xorg.conf but makes a backup of the old): DEBUG_XORG_DEBCONF=1 sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg -fnoninteractive 2>/tmp/reconf.log and attach /tmp/reconf.log as a separate file attachment please.
