I just installed the new 8.1.1 version from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_allversions.html (.deb package) in Feisty. It doesn't look good... The default is still Letter (which you can see from the page dimensions in the preview thumbnail), and if you click "Properties" it DOES show A4 now... (so that part gets fetched from CUPS somehow). So right now it formats for Letter but gives the user the impression that it's formatting for A4 (most people don't know the exact dimensions to expect in the preview by heart).
The only way to get printing right is to temporarily select a different one paper size, click "Properties" again, and put it back to A4.
