Public bug reported: Since updating my laptop from Wily to Xenial, I get a muted sound notification displayed at the lightdm screen, and when my session opens. See screenshot.
Killing indicator-sound-service also displays the notification when it restarts. In .cache/upstart/indicator-sound.log, I get: (process:15411): indicator-sound-WARNING **: volume-control-pulse.vala:744: Unab le to connect to dbus server at 'unix:path=/run/user/1000/pulse/dbus-socket': Co uld not connect: No such file or directory ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: indicator-sound 12.10.2+16.04.20160406-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-23.41-generic 4.4.10 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-23-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Thu Jun 9 08:50:35 2016 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-11-26 (925 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.10 "Saucy Salamander" - Release amd64 (20131016.1) SourcePackage: indicator-sound UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to xenial on 2016-06-02 (6 days ago) ** Affects: indicator-sound (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug third-party-packages xenial ** Attachment added: "screenshot" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1590769/+attachment/4680385/+files/indicator.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1590769 Title: muted notification is displayed when indicator is started To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-sound/+bug/1590769/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
