The same problem occurs in a Sony Vaio VPCSA laptop (i5, 6 Gb RAM), with
the following configuration, using kernel 4.4.0-22 with Ubuntu 16.04.
I've changed back to version 4.2.0-35 and the problem's gone. I hope you
find a solution soon.
