Public bug reported: Using a part like in the attached snipplet copies all of /usr/share/fonts/* into the resulting snap. This is likely desireable for a lot of scenarios instead of listing each and every individual file under the "files:" key.
But "files:" and "snap:" seem to do the same then. Documentation should be explicit on how to use them and what the differences are. Given that "snap:" already exists, I wonder what the added value of "files:" is anyway. Couldnt everything "files:" does be covered by "snap:" and, if so why have "files:" at all? and require it as non- optional? ** Affects: snapcraft (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1588283 Title: copy plugin -- requirement of "files" key is confusing/incosistent To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapcraft/+bug/1588283/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
