Well since I reported this bug I have found out that the linux-firmware from http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-firmware/linux- firmware_1.158_all.deb solved my and my sons 5GHz issue.
I ran these two commands: wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-firmware/linux-firmware_1.158_all.deb sudo dpkg -i linux-firmware_1.158_all.deb As I stated in the forum "http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2325359&page=2"; After that the wireless card has been working as it should. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1436940 Title: Qualcomm Atheros QCA6164 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter [168c:0041] is not supported To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1436940/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
