I can confirm this problem.
X won't start after rebooting my Dell Inspiron 6400 notebook. 
Using the failsave tool I changed from the restricted "nvidia" driver to the 
free "nv" driver and X starts again without problems.

The failsave tool changed my keyboard layout from "de" to "us" which was
a little annoying, when I tried to enter my username and password.
