Bryce, I'm still building my own xserver-xorg without patch 120, and it doesn't fix the gray blocks hang. It allows me to use EXA acceleration, and forces people that still use XAA to add 'option "XAANoOffScreenPixmaps"' to xorg.conf, but I think that is all. I also can reproduce the crash, and have seen it some times during suspend.
