I can confirm this. I see it too in OpenAFS 1.6.7-1ubuntu1.1, but it is not present in e.g. 1.6.7-1ubuntu1~ubuntu12.04.1 on Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS which I happen to run on my other servers.
