Loïc: Our findings appear to be identical. Basic rendering on Pineview (including shaders) is fast and smooth till I used trig functions in shaders (mir_demo_client_eglplasma).
I doubt Unity/Ubuntu toolkit uses much trig, but it probably hits some similarly expensive functions. Expensive functions aren't the problem with the dash though.
