open synaptic. select an application that has dependencies that will be removed if the application will be removed. Right click and select "totally remove" the application. A message with "the following applications will also be removed" will be displayed. Selecting OK does not "place" these dependencies in a "totally remove" state but in the state of "simply" remove. (aka: although the selected application will be "purged" the dependencies will just be uninstalled and not purged. User has to manually mark them to be purged. Personally prefer to save the annotations, change all from "uninstall" to "purge" (in a text editor) then load the annotations again.
Since user selects the purge for the "main application" either all its dependencies should be also purged or (at least) provide a way to automatically mark the relevant dependencies to be purged. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1379867 Title: totally remove assossiated in synaptic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synaptic/+bug/1379867/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
