Dear Joseph, In response to your questions: The issue started after an upgrade from 15.10 to 16.04. The prior version of the kernel without the problem was the one from 15.10 (4.2.0-35)
I will try to test as soon as possible. Some additional observations regarding this bug. * It is also present in the installation iso. * Booting via recovery mode partially fixes/circumvent it.
