On Xubuntu 16.10 amd64, I also have this message. The message complete is : "ubi-console-setup failed with exit code 1. Further information may be found in /var/log/syslog. Do you want to try running this step again before continuing ? If you do not, your installation may fail entirely or may be broken"
How we can have access to /var/log/syslog ? I've selected "Continue anyway" and it seems to work.
