Same problem using gusty on a msi gx700 laptop. I'm currently working on the battery and acpi reports a charging state :

If i plug the AC cable, my screen randomly changes from "charging state" to "battery state" and comes back to "charging state". (The luminosity gets lower). It's very annoying.
