I'm just making a comment to Confirm this. The bug post was not specific enough, but I found that there are *NO sounds* except with the login screen (I don't know if that is related).
Initially I noticed this on after I installed Unity 8. On a fresh reinstall there were still no sounds. I checked the package "ubuntu-sounds" and found it contained the sounds and that the index.theme was installed, but even the single alert sound that shows up under Sounds is unnoticeable during regular desktop usage. ## From a developer perspective 'quiet' is kind of nice, but it cuts the OS a bit short. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1545964 Title: Completeness of Sound Effects Preferences Remains Lacking To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-control-center/+bug/1545964/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
