Thanks for the information - this is good to know. Perhaps the "on-demand" installation only checks when new backups are configured? It appears that if there is an existing Deja-Dup configuration stored in the dconf settings which relies on duplicity, and Deja-Dup is upgraded to the new version, the application fails with an error.
Ideally, if there is an existing backup configuration which relies on duplicity (or other backends), and Duplicity is upgraded to this most recent version, it could display a friendly message and provide the option to install the required dependencies rather than failing with an error message. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1576394 Title: deja-dup package dependencies in 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/deja-dup/+bug/1576394/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
