Public bug reported: On https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-help/power-hibernate.html & https://help.ubuntu.com/16.04/ubuntu-help/power-hibernate.html it states that creating a file /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/com.ubuntu.enable-hibernate.pkla with the following contents will enable hibernate on the menus: [Re-enable hibernate by default in upower] Identity=unix-user:* Action=org.freedesktop.upower.hibernate ResultActive=yes
[Re-enable hibernate by default in logind] Identity=unix-user:* Action=org.freedesktop.login1.hibernate;org.freedesktop.login1.hibernate-multiple-sessions ResultActive=yes That will only work if the entries [Disable hibernate by default in upower] & [Disable hibernate by default in logind] are commented out or removed from /var/lib/polkit-1/localauthority/10-vendor.d/com.ubuntu.desktop.pkla. The entries in /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/com.ubuntu .enable-hibernate.pkla does not supersede the entries in /var/lib/polkit-1/localauthority/10-vendor.d/com.ubuntu.desktop.pkla ** Affects: ubuntu-docs Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: ubuntu-docs Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575466 Title: ubuntu-docs - "How do I hibernate my computer?" doesn't accomplish it's task To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-docs/+bug/1575466/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
