Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 15.10 was working fine, but on upgrading to 16.04, my HDMI
display goes into low-power mode once the kernel starts booting.

Logging in over ssh I can see these errors in the kernel log:

[ 1.730599] i915 0000:00:02.0: No connectors reported connected with modes
[ 1.730607] [drm] Cannot find any crtc or sizes - going 1024x768

System is an Intel NUC DN2820FYK
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Atom Processor
Z36xxx/Z37xxx Series Graphics & Display [8086:0f31] (rev 0c)

Kernel version: linux-image-4.4.0-21-generic

Workaround: add video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080@60D to kernel parameters
