what Christophe Agathon (christophe-agathon) says works for me, at first
I still get a dependancy error of some sort but somehow the mysqlcheck
straightens it all out or something. well, the result is it works after
doing that.

just doing sudo dpkg --configure -a does not work for me, I needed to
purge it and also delete the cnf files.
