Public bug reported: The libnss-myhostname package, and its corresponding entry in /etc/nsswitch.conf, has been removed between Trusty and Xenial.
This causes the command "hostname -f" to fail: ubuntu@ubuntu-xenial:~$ hostname -f hostname: Name or service not known This can trip up automated provisioning that calls "hostname -f" early on and fails on a nonzero exit code (e.g., Vagrant does this). ** Affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1571633 Title: libnss-myhostname is missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/livecd-rootfs/+bug/1571633/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
