Public bug reported:
Hello, When I install Ubuntu 7.10, install all the updates and start Firefox it will run fine. Now when I go to System->Preferences->Appearance->Visual Effects And select : none I can no longer start firefox, it only shows up for a moment in Gnome-panel- 'Starting.... ' then the button disappears from panel and nothing happens. When I select Normal for visual effects, it works again... I am able to start open office, geany, kompozer or whatever when the effects are set to none. I am using the beta version of 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) with all the updates installed at this time. Also have this problem with fresh firefox (no add ons or whatever) [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a Linux buenita 2.6.22-12-generic #1 SMP Sun Sep 23 18:11:30 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Firefox does not start when visual effects are set to none https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148704 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
