faithful: Please check if you really have no /usr/bin/env. (which is in coreutils). Your system seems to be broken in strange ways.
Gabriel: are you still experiencing this bug with current gutsy? I'm using cryptsetup on several machines in several configuration, and had no problems mentioned in this bugtrail.
