You mean 2.2.1 ? of well, this is a very old problem with the yahoo protocol, it has been submited on the pidgin "official" bug tracker. It's related to the yahoo protocol file changes... pidgin needs some updates, this also affects windows, not just linux/Ubuntu. Hope someone will fix this, because it's damn annoying... and nobody did a thing for more than a half an year now...
