Hi, I started having problems after the upgrade to 16.04 beta. I think the last kernel before the update from 15.10 was 4.2.0-35. The mentioned bug report mentioned this being an issue with a graphics driver, I guess it is that. The last freezes happened after playing video.
I installed the 4.5 kernel and I have been playing over an hour of video without freeze (still no freeze at vt switching either). So now I have: vincent@vincent-Lenovo-Yoga-2-11:~$ uname -a Linux vincent-Lenovo-Yoga-2-11 4.5.0-040500-generic #201603140130 SMP Mon Mar 14 05:32:22 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Does this mean the 4.5 kernel will be included in the final 16.04 ? added tag kernel-fixed-upstream. Do I need to mark this a confirmed now? I could test a little longer, but it seems ok. Thank you. ** Tags added: kernel-fixed-upstream -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1562618 Title: whole OS freezes seemingly randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1562618/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
