With Ubuntu 7.10 beta: firefox 2.0.0.6 mplayer 2:1.0~rc1-0ubuntu11 gnome-mplayer 0.5.0 gecko-mediaplayer 0.5.0 firefox-bin stays at very reasonable levels on my machine (<2%).
